Two of the three rafts are situated on a 'griend' island. The third raft lies on a small lake surrounded by reed. Marnemoende lies in the† middle of nature and recreation reserve 'De Hollandse Ijssel'. The historic town of Ijsselstein is closeby. Within one hour by canoe† you can reach the canals of this beautiful town. The area has many hiking and cycling routes. Visiting the city of Utrecht is also one of the many things to do.

The special architectural structure of the area, the buildings and bridges lead to a nomination of the National Architecture Award.

The restaurant on the first floor has a wide view over the harbour, the lake, the 'griend'island and hikingpaths. In the distance you can even see the skyline of Ijsselstein.
